TDRA Grants and Scholarships benefit rural communities and counties in areas such as economic development, disaster relief, infrastructure, feasibility studies, rural scholar recognition, access to emergency devices, healthcare investment, rural emergency medical services enhancement, rural hospital improvement, and physican assistant loan reimbursement.

The East Texas Area Health Education Center (AHEC) serves 111 counties through 9 regional offices in the eastern half of Texas.  East Texas AHEC links the resources of academic health partners and others to improve the health of our communities by developing a quality health workforce and helping address unmet health needs.  East Texas Area Health Education Center is based at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston.
